Push-to-start cars are the easy case
If your car starts with a button rather than a key, there is no metal blade to cut at all. The fob talks to the car by radio, so the whole job is programming, which we do on site with no cutting involved. Cars that still take a blade are a two-part job: cut the metal, then program the chip. A remote head key with a laser or sidewinder blade, the thicker one with a wavy channel down the flat face, is no problem: we cut that blade on site too, then program the electronics. Tell us the year, make and model on the phone and we will sort out which of these three you are before anybody drives anywhere.

Key fob questions
Can I buy a fob online and have you program it?
Often, and it can save real money, but go in with your eyes open. Cheap listings are frequently used fobs already locked to another vehicle, or clones that no scan tool will accept, and then the programming visit was wasted. Send us the listing before you buy and we will tell you whether it is one that will take. If you would rather not gamble, we carry stock.
I lost the only fob I had. Is that different?
Yes, and it costs more, because there is nothing to copy from. With one working fob the car can usually be taught a second quickly. With none, the car has to be put into a state where it accepts a completely new key, which takes longer and on some models involves a security delay measured in minutes rather than seconds. Same job, more of it.
My fob just stopped working. Is it dead or is the car?
Nine times out of ten it is the battery, and that is a two-minute fix we would rather tell you about on the phone than charge you to discover. If a fresh battery does not wake it, the next suspects are a cracked board from a drop or water, or the car losing the pairing. We can test which it is on site.
Fob lost, broken or dead?
Call with the year, make and model. We will tell you what it costs before we come out.
