Car key replacement

Car Key Replacement When Every Key Is Lost

No key left at all. We come to the car wherever it is parked, make a new key from the lock or the vehicle's code, program it to the immobilizer, and hand it over working, so the car does not have to be towed to a dealer and wait there.

What we do

What we replace

  • Lost or stolen only key
  • Transponder (chip) keys
  • Remote head keys, key and remote in one
  • Laser-cut (sidewinder) keys
  • Push-to-start smart keys
  • Keys for trucks and vans
  • Old keys that no longer start the car
  • Removing the lost key from the car's memory
How it works

What we need from you

Proof the car is yours and a way to know it is you: your ID plus the registration or the title, in the same name or with a reason it is not. We ask for it every time, and a locksmith who would make a key without it would make one for whoever asked. Then the job is two parts. The blade is cut on a Dolphin XP-005L code machine, which handles both edge-cut and laser-cut keys, from a code or by reading the lock. The chip is then programmed to the car, and while we are connected we can delete the lost key so it no longer starts the engine if someone finds it.

Where we come to you

Where we make car keys

In driveways, parking lots and on the street across the Santa Clarita Valley, the San Fernando Valley, Lancaster and Palmdale and out to Ventura County. Tell us the year, make and model when you text, and we will say straight away whether we can do it on site. On the Westside we work by appointment and do not take car key calls.

Questions

Car key replacement questions

Is it quicker than the dealer?

Usually, because the car does not move. A dealer needs the car brought in, often by tow when there is no key, and orders the key from the code. We do the whole thing where the car is parked.

Why does losing every key take longer than making a spare?

With a working key we copy its cut and add a chip to a car that already trusts one key. With none, we have to work out the cut from the lock or the code and put the car's immobilizer into a mode that accepts a new key, which some makes deliberately slow down as a security measure.

Can you make a key for any car?

Most makes and models on the road, domestic and import. A few recent models are dealer-only for programming; tell us the year, make and model and we say in the first message whether yours is one of them.

Someone may have my lost key. Can they still start the car?

Not after we delete it. Once the new key is programmed we remove the missing one from the car's memory, so it will no longer start the engine.

Lost every key to the car?

Text the year, make and model and where the car is, and we will send a price and an arrival time.
