Why a commercial door is not a house door
An aluminum storefront door throws a hook bolt into the frame and carries its cylinder in a narrow stile with almost nothing behind it, so the technique that opens a front door at a house does nothing here. Panic hardware is harder again: from outside there is often no keyway at all, just a rim cylinder feeding a latch, and forcing it bends the device and takes the door out of fire code. We pick or decode wherever we can and drill only as a last resort. If a cylinder does have to come out, we carry replacements with us, so you are never left with a door that cannot be locked overnight.
Where we come to you
Shops, offices, warehouses and units across Santa Clarita, Valencia, Saugus, Newhall, Canyon Country and Castaic, the industrial pockets of Sylmar, Pacoima and Van Nuys, the storefronts of Burbank, Glendale, North Hollywood and Studio City, and out to Lancaster and Palmdale. Before opening and after closing are normal hours for us, not a surcharge to be argued about later. On the Westside we work by appointment and do not take lockout calls.

Commercial lockout questions
Do you need proof I run the business?
Yes. A lease, a business license, a utility bill in the company name, or a manager we can reach on the phone. A locksmith who opens a commercial door without asking will do the same for the next person who turns up, and that is not a company you want with access to your building.
Can you open a door that has a panic bar on the inside?
Usually yes, through the outside cylinder or the latch, without touching the bar itself. What we will not do is force the device. A bent panic bar stops being a legal fire exit, and replacing one costs several times what opening the door does.
Can you stop it happening again?
Often in the same visit. Repeat lockouts almost always come down to one of three things: a worn cylinder, a door that has dropped so the bolt no longer lines up, or simply too many keys in circulation. We can rekey it, adjust the closer, or set up a small master key system so a manager carries one key that opens everything.
Shut out of the shop?
Call with the address and which door it is. We will tell you how long, and what it costs, before we set off.
